An introduction.....
Located in Perth, Western Australia after returning from a 10 year musical adventure in the UK based on the fabulous, Jurassic Coast line of Dorset,
I've been fortunate enough to have worked alongside some of Australia's iconic bands and performers including Aussie legends Gangajang, Kate Ceberano, Nathan Cavaleri Band and Golden Guitar winning Aussie Balladeer Reg Poole OAM.
It wasn't always that way, I came to music relatively late after leaving it in my teens and returning only after I had kids and returned to musical theatre in a principal role in the award winning 'Pajama Game' for Roleystone Theatre.
I have remained on the Perth music scene ever since, in one project or another, mostly in corporate bands, duo's and other commercial projects until 2009 when an opportunity presented itself on the Western Australian Country Music scene to perform in Country Gospel Quartet 'Girls Gone Gospel' alongside award winning country artist Connie Kis Andersen. The opportunity paved the way for songwriting opportunities and a top 30 placement of my original song 'Utopia' in two categories of The Australian Songwriters Competition in 2010, gaining national airplay and an award at The West Australian Country Music Awards at Boyup Brook Country Music Festival in the same year for 'Best New Talent'.
A proud moment for me was working alongside award winnning Indigenous Australian performers Della Rae Morrison & Jessie Lloyd with the 'Madjital Moorna' choir appearing at Chocolate Martini Nightclub airing nationally on NITV, Fremantle's renowned live music venue The Fly by Night Cub and the historic Government apology to First Nation Australian's performing the 'sorry song' February 13th 2008 for the West Australian Government.
Since then I've worked in some amazing musical collaborations and provided backing vocals for original music by Australasian Singing Champion Chelsea J Gibson (Popstars, The Voice Australia 2017, Boy George support) before returning to the UK for 10 magical years working around the country, sharing the stage with some of the UK's hottest blues musicians. which lead to opportunities in Europe and regular spots on prestigious festivals like the south coasts award winning Swanage Blues Festival coordinated by my friend, and one of the UK;s truly inspiring and legendary blues and boogie musicians, Steve Darrington.
The adventure continues.... back in Perth and ready to bring some energy to Perth stages with my new band 'Hep Harmonies' with my buddy, fellow founding member, multi instrumentalist and gentleman of the blues harp, Geoff Bushby with a host of Perth's finest!
There's also the lure of the big stage again, with the Encore Entertainment family... 2020 just got started!
Hope to see you at one of the shows!
